Cystolepiota rosea (Rea) Singer syn. Lepiota rosea Rea syn. Cystolepiota moelleri Rosa Schirmpilz. Cap 2–3cm across, convex then expanded, pink at first becoming brownish-pink with age, densely grainy-mealy, margin overhanging, appearing toothed. Stem 50–60 x 3–5mm, white at apex concolorous with cap below with floccose-granular scales at first; ring narrow, soon disappearing. Flesh white becoming tinged pinkish especially towards stem base. Smell faint and pleasant according to some authors, this collection however had a very strong unpleasant smell, like that of L. cristata. Gills white, later cream. Cheilocystidia scattered, thin-walled, hyaline, clavate or bottle-shaped. Spore print white. Spores elliptic, non-dextrinoid, 4.5–6 x 2.5–3.5um. Mealy surface of cap formed of thin-walled, globose cells. Habitat damp ground in shady deciduous woods. Season autumn. Rare. Edibility unknown -avoid. Found In Europe.
